The tree was there before the design, and the plan was written around it. The house unfolds in an L-shape to make room for it, with a low timber-clad volume for the living spaces and a dark volume upstairs for the bedrooms.
The living room opens along its entire length through sliding pocket doors: in summer, the terrace and lawn become an extension of the space. The finishes are restrained—oak, polished concrete, black-lacquered steel joinery.
